Spring Clean-up:
Doing Your Part
Each spring, as you know, Water Wheel management assesses every lot and a checklist is sent out itemizing anything needing to be done around your home site. The list below contains the first things looked at on every lot. If any of these items apply to you, please make the necessary arrangements to fix them.
1. Any ruts made alongside your driveway is your responsibility to fill with dirt and seed.
2. Any winter storage you have in plain sight needs to be put away. Lots should look clean and well cared for.
3. If your home needs to be washed because of dirt, algae, etc. you should do so.
4. Any loose/broken siding, skirting, posts, etc. should be repaired or replaced.
5. Yard lights should be clean and in good working order. (Parts available at the office).
Water Wheel Mission
Our mission is to keep Water Wheel Community looking great, upgrade whenever possible, promote & enforce our rules & regulations so everyone has the opportunity to have a great quality of life.
To that end we are planning on the following upgrades in the community this year.
We are planning to landscape behind the Community Building so that the area may be enjoyed by residents and guests. This includes installing a 5’ working water wheel at the pond so it may be seen from the building. The water wheel will disburse water into a smaller stream and waterfall going back into the pond. This project will take some fussing with into early summer.
We continue to work on the algae problem in the pond. We have begun treatments much earlier this year so we can get better control of it.
Benches, picnic table and swing will soon be placed out by the lake and around the pond for your enjoyment.
As always we continue to upgrade individual lots to improve the overall community
Guide for Parents & Kids
Kathy Thomas, owner of Water Wheel, is asking all parents of children living in the community to attend a parent meeting Sunday May 4th at 1 p.m. in the Community Building. The purpose for this meeting is to be helpful to parents by clarifying the most important rules for children. We are interested in parents’ input. We would also like to be helpful to those parents who might want to organize some activity or event for children in the park.

Brush Pick up
The spring brush pick up will be Thursday, May 15th. Leaves must be in PAPER bags and all brush/branches must be tied in manageable bundles (small enough for one person to handle) and at your curb no later than 8a.m. that day.
Rain date: Friday, May 16th.
Irrigation
We are working on getting our irrigation system up and running. The irrigation is on now but we are still fixing leaky spigots so it may be off and on for a short time. We will post a note at the mail house when it is up and running for the season.
The Swimming Season
The swimming season is almost upon us once again. We are currently planning to have the pool open by Memorial Day. Pool passes are $35 for the season for your entire household. PLEASE NOTE: There is no swimming allowed without a pass.
Community Yard Sale
It’s time once again to get rid of all your unwanted clutter! This year our community yard sale will once again coincide with the 5th annual US12 yard sale that spans Michigan Ave. At this time the sale is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday August 9th & 10th from 8am to 5pm on your lot. In addition to the “US12 yard sale” ads we will advertise in the local papers and you may pick up a ‘YARD SALE’ sign at the office. Please watch the mail house and our website for details as the date gets closer.
Water Bills
Most of you have already received your sample bill in the mail. This bill is only for reference purposes and does not need to be paid. The first real bill will be received around the 20th of May and will be due promptly on the 13th of June.
Community Service Day
On May 9th, Clinton students have volunteered to lend a helping hand to people in the community that need assistance with spring chores such as weeding, window washing, etc. This service is FREE to you. If you are interested please contact the office A.S.A.P.
