Autumn/Winter 2008

New Picnic Area

We have completed our magnificent water feature and the landscaping around it and we are now ready to enjoy it! We have added a picnic table and a new gas grill for you to use for your reserved party or just for a picnic. I f you would like to use the grill for any occasion please make arrangements with the office in advance.

Compliments to You All!

Once again, we have ended another summer looking great! Thank you all for doing a wonderful job keeping our community looking beautiful all summer long! We also appreciate parents for helping to educate their children about the rules of this community. There has been a big difference this summer in kids abiding by the rules. This is appreciated by everyone and confirms we have a good group of kids in this community.

Entrance Lights

As I’m sure most of you have noticed we now have brand new lights illuminating our entrance sign. Thank you for your patience throughout this process.

Pilates Exercise Class

Pilates is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination. Pilates improves your mental and physical well-being, increases circulation and strengthens muscles. People who do pilates regularly feel they have better posture, are less prone to injury, and experience better overall health.

A pilates exercise class is now held in the clubhouse every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7-8 pm. The cost is $5.00 per class. Classes are taught by certified instructor Cyndie Milligan, a Clinton resident. Please bring a mat or towel to class. You may contact the office for more details.

Girl Scout Food Drive

Girl Scout troop 221, led by W.W. resident Theresa Smith, is again hosting a food drive to help Water Wheel residents who are in need this season. Please bring any non-perishable food donations to the office between Nov. 21st and Dec. 14th. Busch’s gift certificates will also be accepted. If you are in need of food or know a neighbor who is, please contact the office before Dec. 14th. (All recommendations will be kept confidential)

Winter Check List:
Preventative Home Maintenance

Every homeowner is responsible for maintaining their home and ensuring its safety & proper mechanical function. Below is a list that should be checked yearly. If you are in need of repairs and need help finding someone please contact the office and we will assist you.

1) Check your heat tape and make sure it is plugged in and working properly. 2) Check water heater for both gas and water leaks and proper venting. Make sure floor is solid. (Every 6 mos.)** 3) Visually check under homes for any leaks. 4) Make sure all gas, electric, water and sewer lines under home are working properly. 5) Check furnace and clean filters. 6) Check your ceilings for water damage, which may indicate a roof leak. 7) Mobile homes with metal roofs should be Kool-sealed every 2-3 years to help prevent leaks. 8) Home’s level should be checked every few years and adjusted if necessary.

A special note about water heaters
Every homeowner should inspect their water heater every 6 months for leaks and/or corrosion and proper venting. If you do need to replace your water heater you should be careful that the new one being installed is approved for mobile home use. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to call the office.

Dead Ash Tree Removal

We have taken down more dead Ash trees at the north end of the community. This completes the removal of dead Ash trees located close to homes. In the future we will be working on trees to the east & west of our concrete dam.

Recycling in Clinton

There are now recycling bins located in Clinton! You can find them on US12 in front of the storage units behind Reel Video (west end of town).

Rules to Remember

Parking

We would again like to remind everyone that there is NO parking allowed on the street. It makes passage through our streets difficult and dangerous and also does not look good. We have areas, at the front and back of the park, for extra parking if needed. An additional reminder that this rule is especially important in the winter when the snow plow comes through. Please help enable him to properly clear the snow by making sure you and your guests’ vehicle(s) are not parked in the street. Thank you.

Speeding

SLOW DOWN! The speed limit throughout the park is 15 MPH for RESIDENTS AND GUESTS. For everyone’s safety please obey the posted limit and have your guests do the same.

Pets

Just a reminder that pets are not allowed to be left outside, unattended, for any length of time. We do not allow cats outside for any reason. If you own a cat please keep him/her indoors at all times. Also, do not feed the stray cats! If we do not feed them they will go elsewhere to find food. Thank you!
